What We Collect

  • Email address (for account and email delivery)
  • Password (stored as a secure hash — we never see or store your actual password)
  • Birth data: date, time, and city of birth with coordinates (for generating readings)
  • Technical data captured when you sign up: your IP address and browser user-agent
  • A Reddit advertising click identifier (rdt_cid), if you reached us from a Reddit ad
  • Your Stripe subscription state (active, cancelled). Card details are handled entirely by Stripe — we never see or store them.

How We Use Your Data

  • Email: to send you readings and account-related communications
  • Birth data: to calculate your natal chart and generate personalized readings
  • IP address, user-agent and Reddit click ID: to measure the effectiveness of our advertising (see Advertising & Measurement below)
  • We do not sell your data.

Advertising & Measurement

We advertise on Reddit, and we measure which of those ads lead to sign-ups and subscriptions so we don't waste money on ads that don't work. To do this we use:

  • Reddit Pixel — a small piece of JavaScript that runs in your browser and reports page views and key actions (viewing your chart, signing up, subscribing) back to Reddit.
  • Reddit Conversions API — the same key actions reported from our server, so measurement still works if the in-browser pixel is blocked. For matching, we send Reddit a one-way hashed (SHA-256) version of your email, your IP address, user-agent, and Reddit click ID. Reddit cannot recover your email from the hash.

You can turn this off at any time using the Cookie preferences link in the footer. When you opt out, the Reddit Pixel stops firing and we stop sending these conversion events for your account.

Third Parties

We share limited data with these services to operate MyStars:

  • Stripe: processes your payment. They receive your email for billing purposes. See Stripe's privacy policy.
  • Anthropic (Claude AI): generates your readings. Birth data and chart calculations are sent to generate reading content. See Anthropic's privacy policy.
  • AstrologerAPI: calculates planetary positions from your birth data.
  • Reddit: receives the advertising-measurement events described above. See Reddit's privacy policy.

Cookies

We use a secure, HttpOnly session cookie for authentication (essential — the site can't log you in without it). With your consent, we also use advertising cookies for the Reddit Pixel. Advertising cookies are on by default and you can disable them via the Cookie preferences link in the footer.

Data Storage

Your data is stored on secured servers. Passwords are hashed using industry-standard algorithms. We retain your data for as long as your account is active.

Your Rights

You can request a copy of your data or request deletion by emailing info@mystars.online. Upon deletion request, we will remove all your personal data within 30 days.

Changes

We may update this policy. Material changes will be communicated via email to active subscribers.
